The Mission to Mars:

Course Objectives:
My mission is to inspire, motivate, and guide my students to achieve academic success. I will provide an interesting and safe learning environment in which my students will experience challenging intellectual material and be engaged in relevant activities. This will help by giving students the opportunity to expand their horizons and become skillful, socially responsible, and creative problem solvers.
Academic Goals:
1. Guide students in developing the ability to use the scientific method and analytical problem solving skills.
2. Have all students become actively engaged in the learning process by using a variety of teaching techniques which are well-established and respected within the profession.
3. Provide interesting and relevant material in order to help motivate students to develop a positive attitude towards learning.
4. Promote teamwork and socially responsible behavior among my students.
5. Teach my students to appreciate the interrelationships and balance in nature.
6. Help my students to become better independent learners by promoting literacy and study skills.
7. Give students the opportunity to develop their research skills.
8. Allow students to obtain experience using technology as a tool for learning and problem-solving.
9. Provide students with a strong foundation in science on which to further their study of the natural phenomena of the universe.
10. Teach students to appreciate the importance of both theoretical and practical/applied science and guide them on their pursuit of knowledge based on logic, determination, and imagination.
